![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Science fiction is a rich area for great story ideas, but doing them on television seems to be an almost impossible task. I'm more concerned that it'll be a huge failure like Alcatraz, No Ordinary Family, Flash-Forward, Terra Nova, and several other costly attempts to duplicate the success of Lost. Drivers can expect delays for another hour while the scene is cleaned up. According to a tweet by Rural Metro Fire, the tractor trailer was carrying several cars that were on fire. Heck, at least 60 years, when you count The Day the Earth Stood Still. 6 hours ago &0183 &32 The fire completely blocked the northbound lanes of I-75 North near Mile Marker 117, near the Raccoon Valley Drive exit. It's a common theme in SF that goes back at least 50 years. I would argue that it's more an apocalyptic tale like Jerry Pournelle's Lucifer's Hammer, where mankind has to try to rebuild after a comet hits the earth, destroying most world governments, plus the power grid is gone, manufacturing plants are gone, and most cities' infrastructure is irreparably destroyed. A quick check reveals that Dies the Fire is a story where "the Massachusetts island of Nantucket is thrown back in time from March 1998, to the Bronze Age." That's not exactly what Revolution is about, since this is a world-wide event where all electricity fails. ![]()
